TRANSFORMING LIVES

Safisha Africa Welfare Foundation works in Mowlem Settlement Scheme which is surrounded by five slums that benefit from the charity work transforming the lives in the communities in Nairobi, Kenya.

Due to the rising poverty levels many families in the slums are unable to provide for their own children leave alone educating them nor pay rent where they stay leaving their children on the streets, abandoned, abused and illiterate. For most families girls are the most disadvantaged.

SAWF therefore runs a local school in the location enrolling the children through the founder and Teacher Alice Muhonja to tap talents and performance in the children that are from the communities. The children are enrolled at the Safisha Africa School, provide by the uniforms, shoes, sweaters, classroom, feeding program, counseling and an atmosphere to make them better persons. The support is aimed at changing lives and leaving a good mark in the families where the children have been raised. There is nothing one can do to a child raised and born in slums and settlement areas but there is so much one can do to transform their destiny from poverty. Children do not choose where they are born
