LISHE HAS FED 10,000 VULNERABLE CHILDREN OVER 15 YEARS
The Lishe Bora program which is more than a feeding program has had a significant impact on the well-being and educational engagement of the children served by Safisha Africa Welfare Foundation. By providing daily meals, the program ensures that children receive the necessary nutrition to support their physical and mental development. For many,
the meal they receive at school is the only one they can count on each day, making this program a lifeline for those from impoverished backgrounds.
The assurance of a daily meal motivates children to attend school regularly, which in turn enhances their learning opportunities. The Lishe Bora program not only addresses hunger but also acts as a powerful incentive for education, as children from poor families are more likely to come to school to eat and, consequently, to learn. This connection between nutrition and education has contributed to better attendance rates, improved concentration in class, and overall academic performance. In a class of 45 learner the attendance is always 100% unless the child is sick.Safisha Africa School ,SOMESHA program has grown from the LISHE program in attendance and increase in the learners who are enrolled at the program from play group ,Primary to high school transforming the community. Moreover, the program alleviates the burden on families struggling to provide food, allowing parents to focus on other pressing needs without worrying about their children’s immediate hunger. It has also reduced the children on the streets as many are catered too in the orphanage and school attendance. By addressing both the nutritional and educational needs of vulnerable children, Lishe Bora plays a critical role in breaking the cycle of poverty and giving these children a better chance at a brighter future.
