1,000 WOMEN EMPOWERED THROUGH BUSINESS INITIATIVES

Why Safisha Africa Welfare Foundation focuses on girls and women is due to the deep rooted challenges  they face that limit their opportunities for education, personal growth and economic independence starting from a young age. The Foundation is committed to addressing these inequalities by providing opportunities that empower girls and women to break free from traditional roles and societal expectations. Here is what we do,we address education neglect where the girls often are the last to be considered for education with communities prioritizing boys. Safisha ensures that girls  from vulnerable backgrounds have equal access to education, providing SOMESHA program through scholarships, school supplies, and support to ensure they stay in school.

By encouraging and facilitating girls’ education, we help shift the focus from domestic responsibilities, like cooking and fetching firewood, to academic and personal development while breaking the cycle of domestic responsibility.

In many cultures particularly in Africa, girls are seen as economic assets, often married off early for dowry. Safisha’s programs aim to keep girls in school longer, reducing the likelihood of early marriage and enabling them to pursue their own futures.

Through the TUNZA program, girls and women  are equipped with skills and resources to become economically independent, reducing reliance on traditional roles and empowering them to make decisions about their own lives.

Safisha addresses issues affecting women by organizing them into groups and providing capital to start businesses. The women are then able to revolve the money within their groups, creating a sustainable pathway to economic independence.

Safisha  providing economic dependence actively works to reduce the various forms of violence that women experience when they are vulnerable to livelihoods. The empowerment at the same time raises
awareness about the various forms of violence women face, including domestic violence, and advocates for the protection and rights of women and girls.

The  program provides a safe environment where girls and women can seek help, receive counseling, and any financial support  without being vulnerable to sexual violence where a woman can be paid only 5 dollar to sell her girl child for food or she can give in herself for sex which results into pregnance that later leaves her with heavy burdens of another child she cannot be able to cater for.Safisha ensures they  have access to ntrious food and medical care for better development.

Safisha encourages girls to take on leadership roles within the school and community when they have group meetings, fostering confidence and independence.
